The “Power Kick” Music

Psychedelic Rock, the most popular form of 1960, has always been associated with drug-usage and hippies. It was based mostly on the experiences felt which were akin to being in a drug-induced psyche Delia and it was said to be an attempt to recreate the otherworldly experiences that one would achieve from mind expanding drugs use such as cannabis, LSD etc.. This genre of music was born in the early versions of “blues” and country music and originated itself in the U.S and U.K. during the infamous ‘flower power’ movement which was against any kind of violence and war, especially the Vietnam War. The lyrics used are whimsical and sometimes literary-inspired lyrics, often with social messages. Many of us in today’s time might have heard the names of the legendary bands like Pink Floyd and The Doors. The others include Jefferson Airplane, The Who, The Jimmy Hendrix Experience, Grateful Dead to name a few.
